As a nonprofit organization providing housing solutions and support for low-income families across Northern Virginia, we don’t have the time or expertise to deal with IT emergencies. Our day-to-day efforts include programs like senior emergency assistance, security deposit support, food distribution, and down payment help, as well as managing and continuing to improve the Manassas mobile home park we rescued five years ago. Our five employees’ schedules are brimming as is. It’s a big relief to us to have Blue Bay Technology to take the IT piece off our plates so we can focus on what we do bestÑcreating foundations for hope in our community.

When I first joined the CFH team, they had been working with another family-owned IT company until its owner became ill and passed away. Almost immediately after this, our IT needs fell into a state of crisis. We were getting notifications from our website host that our website was expiring, pop-ups telling us that our Dropbox data would be deleted if action wasn’t taken, and everything was honestly in a state of chaos. Luckily, I had partnered with Blue Bay at a previous nonprofit, so I knew exactly whom to call. Will and his team at Blue Bay wasted no time assessing the situation, identifying the immediate steps needed to get our business back on track, and pulling our team out of this crisis mode so that we could switch back into our regular community support mode.

Although we initially called Blue Bay in to help put out our IT fires, I knew, thanks to my previous experience with them, that they offered so much more than reactive IT services. Once we smoothed out the initial bumps, Blue Bay analyzed our current technology solutions and provided customized strategies to help us achieve our goals. For example, after the scare where we thought we were going to lose thousands of critical documents in our Dropbox, they added specialized backup protection and recovery protocols so that we didn’t have to worry about this important information suddenly vanishing. And this is just one of the many examples where the team at Blue Bay proactively sat down with us to discuss our needs, create a plan, and implement it before we experienced a crisis, which has been invaluable as our business continues to grow.

At this point, we don’t see Blue Bay as a third-party IT service; we see them as a critical partner in our business that allows us to achieve our fullest potential.

To further illustrate this point, we just moved into a new location, meaning there were a multitude of logistics to consider between setting up our computers, phone systems, networks, hard drives, and more. Blue Bay completely alleviated any potential headaches by going to our new location early to implement all these technology solutions so that it was mostly in place by the time we arrived.

Overall, we cannot say enough good things about Will and his team at Blue Bay Technology. With them as our trusted IT partner, we don’t worry about dealing with any IT emergencies that might arise; instead, we can spend our time fulfilling our mission and serving our community.
