Take the Pledge: “I solemnly swear to backup my important documents and precious memories today and I will also tell my friends and family about World Backup Day.”
We all really know how important backing our data is, but it’s something that most of us either take for granted or really don’t pay much attention to. Hence, World Backup Day. This designated backup day serves as a reminder of how truly important it is to backup our data on ALL of our devices whether personal or work-related.
If it’s for personal data make sure you’re backing up your desktop, laptop, and any other devices where you keep documents, photos, and other important information to either a cloud storage application or to an external hard drive (preferably both).
And make sure you are utilizing our cell phone providers service to back up the contents of your cell phone. I’m sure those phone numbers you have stored are extremely important to you and who remembers phone numbers anymore. Also, I bet you have a ton of pictures on your phone that would be heart-rending to lose. All those important memories deserve your diligence to protect and preserve them.
And if it’s for business, the same things apply. However, one caveat, you really shouldn’t be saving data to your devices. You should be saving your work to a shared network drive either locally on a server or on a cloud-based storage system.
If you are saving data to your “local” drive, please check with us to make sure we either backup your device or redo how you are saving data. And, again, utilize your cell phone provider’s service to back up your cell phone data. You REALLY don’t want to lose those contact’s information.
